About Our Host Sista Charity

Letz Lime

Letz Lime is a talk show that allows women voice their opinions, perspective, experiences, and insight on specific topics.

For those of you who are not familiar with the term liming, let me explain.  Liming is when you and your girls or your hommies are hanging out together and ya'll start talking and sharing what's on your mind.

Letz Lime airs every Saturday beginning September 8, 2018 from 1:00pm - 1:30pm.

Sista Charity

loves listening to the radio especially on Sundays.  However, she had observed that the DJ would rarely play her favorite songs or artists. As a result, she invested in a large gospel music collection. One day as fate would have it; she was in the presence of the station’s General Manager, Sherman Rutledge Jr.  It was at that time that she expressed her desire to become an on-air gospel personality and asked if he would provide her an opportunity to be trained.  She began her training as a gospel on-air DJ at 3:00am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

How did Sista Charity get her on-air name?  Helicia Thomas decided her on-air name would incorporate the name and/or actions from two women who were responsible for her spiritual growth.  Her grandmother – Lovey Sayles, and aunt – MaryEtta Sayles Clinton demonstrated their love for her and resulted in the name "Sista Charity".  This was her tribute to their undying sacrifice and examples they lived.  She traveled throughout the US preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to youth and adults.  She’s even traveled to Glasgow in Scotland and London England as a Christian Ambassador.  She has earned her BS in Human Services Management, and received her Ordination to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ.
She is a wife of over 28 years and has three beautiful daughters.
